is planning to issue a policy to promote the use of open-source chips nationwide, according to two sources.

Chinese chip design firms have embraced RISC-V, but the government has yet to mention it in policy. Shares in several Chinese chip design firms rose after the news.

So as we see in Reuters article, Some US people in gvt would like to block it and ask to US companies to not work on it... If they do they will definitively lost the next CPU train. India, Pakistan, Russia, and probably lot of other countries work on it too. Switzerland (in middle of, but not in political E.U., where the fondation moved during last Trump presidency for it's own protection), have university of Zurich that work on PULP platform a 100% open source #RISCV plaform, all HDL code is available on GitHub. ESA (European space agency use RISC-V in space since 2 years too. I believe NASA too, more recently, but they will probably stop it, and not get benefit of the whole planet scholars work so.
